Victoria Ashley Shaheen is an artist living and working in Detroit, MI, born and raised on the Jersey shoreline. She attended the Corcoran College of Art and Design in Washington DC for her BFA and graduated from the Cranbrook Academy of Art in Bloomfield Hills with her MFA in Ceramics in 2013. Her vessels are currently on view at David Klein Gallery in downtown, Detroit in the niche windows.
Her work uses commodity culture, image saturation and the history of decorative arts and design to create contemporary environments that deconstruct hierarchies, expose absurdity in social systems, and simply make people laugh. Currently, she teaches in the Fine Art Department of Wayne State University.
